Emily Berthelette

As a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and the University of Hartford, Emily Berthelette, DPT, BS, has practiced since 2011 as a physical therapist. Primarily working with geriatric and adult patients, she has worked in the inpatient setting, subacute rehab facilities, long term care facilities, and well as outpatient clinics.
Since joining JWU originally as the head coach of the club gymnastics team in January of 2022, Berthelette has moved into the role of the Director of Clinical Education in August of 2022. As the DCE in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, she has focused her efforts on securing a wide variety of unique clinical education sites for our DPT students.

Scholarly Interests
Berthelette’s research interests include assessing scores on the Functional Movement Screen in NCAA division 3 athletes and the possible association with injury risk is an important component in decreasing the overall risk of injury in athletes. She also has interest in assessing the quality of life and change in TUG scores in long term care facility residents through the use of horticultural therapy.
