Tamara Blake

Tamara Blake is an associate professor of Psychology at Johnson & Wales University. As an educational psychologist and a believer in lifelong learning, she has been teaching in higher education for 15 years. As a licensed mental health counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist, she has contributed to the clinical community in a variety of settings. She has served in crisis assessment, inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities, clinics focusing on substance use disorders, community mental health clinics, and nonprofit organizations. She is the president and founder of Angels Take Flight, a nonprofit organization that supports children in foster care and other transitional systems. She considers herself an optimist and enjoys completing research in the realm of Positive Psychology. In addition to teaching, she has a passion for integrating herself in different cultures through travel. She enjoys combining her passions for travel and teaching by leading several study abroad programs throughout her career.
