Teaching Interests
Her passion in teaching is creating an open and inclusive environment for students to feel safe to learn and ask questions. She engages students in active learning strategies that allow them to think outside the box to expand their knowledge base.
Extra Curricular Roles
One of her most personal and professional life changing events happened in 2017 when she travelled to Guatemala on a missions trip with other nurse educators to expand global health teaching experiences. While on the trip, she was able to care for communities of people in a remote section of the country with limited resources. On the last day of the trip, her team was involved in a life threatening accident that put her faith and personal resilience to the test. From this experience, she has gained an appreciation of global health and grit.
