Q&A with Audrey

At JWU, education is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. You’re not going to spend four years with your nose buried in a book, learning theories you may never get a chance to apply — you’re going to get out there and apply them, be it through internships, group projects, leadership opportunities, competitions and more.

What Advice Do You Have For Incoming Freshmen?

The first year of college can be extremely difficult. It is important for students to realize that they are not alone in their struggles. Anxiety, depression, homesickness, and difficulty adapting to the rigorous schedule of college can all take their toll on mental health and academic performance. My advice is to utilize all of the resources students have available to them. Counseling, tutoring, and student activities can help a student stay focused, achieve academic goals, and connect them with the student community.
