At Johnson & Wales, we know finals can be a stressful time for any student, but at JWU we offer a number of activities and academic support opportunities to help our students be the best they can be, whether this is their first round of college finals, or their last term before graduation.
This is why on the eve of finals our Student Government Association and JWU Ask organize our annual "Paws" to De-Stress event, where students can meet and pet therapy dogs, play with kinetic sand, color, snack, and relax in between hitting the books.
From inviting furry friends on to campus for students to visit with during reading days, to offering peer and professional tutoring on campus all term long, Johnson & Wales is dedicated to our students' well-being, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Our Student Academic Services department provides academic counselors and advisors to assist with academic planning, course registration, and more, while our Center for Academic Support offers tutoring and study skills workshops. And the best part? All of these services are provided at no extra cost to our students.
Both JWU Providence's Downcity and Harborside campuses boast their own professionally-staffed libraries, complete with private study rooms and Writing Lab locations, where trained writing coaches are available to offer support and feedback at any stage of the writing process.
You’ll hear a lot about the Wildcat Way at Johnson & Wales University: Pride, Courage, Character and Community. These are the 4 traits that characterize what it means to be a Wildcat, both in and out of the classroom.
Wildcat Pride is inseparable from that sense of pushing yourself to do more than you think you’re capable of — and we're here to help!
