PRESS RELEASE
Culinary and Equine Labs planned to resume on April 13
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — March 17, 2020 – Johnson & Wales University (JWU) today announced that academic classes will continue to be delivered online through the remainder of the spring term. The university hopes to resume all College of Culinary Arts lab classes and Equine Sciences lab classes on April 13.
Based on these changes to the academic schedule and to lessen the in-person density in student housing, all on-campus students will be required to move out of their residence halls by Sunday, March 22. The university will modify hours of operations for various departments and student services during this time. Understanding that this decision may cause hardship for some students, the university will work to determine how to accommodate those with housing needs. All culinary and equine students who live on campus will be provided housing when labs resume in April.
The JWU Graduate Studies Commencement scheduled for May 1, 2020 has been postponed. A decision regarding the remaining JWU commencement ceremonies will be made before the end of March.
At this time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the JWU Providence Campus. Updates on this evolving situation have and will continue to be communicated to the JWU community by email and postings on the covid.jwu.edu.
