Articulation Agreements
Johnson & Wales University is dedicated to recruiting students from local area college and universities through articulation agreements.
Recognizing the shortage of primary care providers in the state of Rhode Island, these articulation agreements will create a bridge for students and assist us in educating area students who, upon graduation, will help RI meet the market demand for qualified physician assistants.
Johnson & Wales University
The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) will grant a guaranteed admissions interview to any student enrolled as an undergraduate at Johnson & Wales University who meets the following criteria:
- Has been nominated by a JWU pre-health advisor by September 1st of the applicable admissions cycle.
- Has met all criteria for admission to the program including prerequisite course work, direct patient care experience, and PA shadowing.
- Has submitted an application through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) by September 1st of the calendar year prior to their intended matriculation.
- Has a minimum CASPA calculated overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 with no prerequisite grade below “C.”
- Has a minimum CASPA calculated BCP grade point average of 3.50 (BCP GPA includes all Biology, Chemistry, and Physics courses completed at all institutions of higher education).
- Has arranged for the submission of a letter of recommendation from a pre-health advisor familiar with the student’s academic work as part of CASPA application.
Acceptance to the program will be contingent upon a successful in-person interview day with the JWU PA Admissions committee and the respective candidate meeting all JWU requirements for admission into the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) program. Because JWU usually receives more applicants from qualified applicants than it has available spots, even qualified candidates cannot be guaranteed admission.
