“The well-roundedness of JWU students is pretty much second to none,” says Kevin Longo ’06, solutions engineer at OSHEAN. Longo, along with 14 other top industry companies met with students at this week’s Technology Career Fair. Their goal: finding their next superstar intern, co-op trainee or employee at JWU.
“Johnson & Wales is my alma mater, so I have a personal affinity for the university,” adds Longo. “But, there’s definitely a special feel about the students here. There’s such a diverse population here, that it allows us to [hire] people with different ideas and approaches to solving problems. That’s super unique.”
"I think there are a lot of good opportunities for me here."
For students, the event offers an opportunity to apply for competitive positions in analytics, cybersecurity, graphic design, web development, software and network engineering, and more.
“I’m currently looking for internship, as well as job opportunities for May 2019,” says Anusha Deshpande ’19 MBA. “I’m mainly into the field of analytics and project management. And I think there are a lot of good opportunities for me here,” she adds.
Graphic design student Maghean Duprey ’19, made a few connections and is hoping to find an internship for the spring. “I spoke to someone at the Johnson & Johnson table and they have a co-op open. I have a friend that’s graduating this term that actually works there right now, so I’m going to apply,” she says.
