Each of Johnson & Wales University’s campuses — Providence, Rhode Island; North Miami, Florida; Denver, Colorado; and Charlotte, North Carolina — have been recognized among a number of noteworthy rankings, including five prestigious U.S. News & World Report rankings.
All four JWU campuses were named to the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education Rankings 2020, and our North Miami Campus ranked #4 in the nation for Environment — awarded to schools with the highest scores for diversity.
Recent rankings also include Money’s 2019-20 Best Colleges in America, and Washington Monthly Magazine’s 2019 Best Bang for the Buck Rankings: Northeast.

More U.S. News & World Report rankings for Regional Universities North include:
Best Value Schools
Only schools in the top 50% of their ranking category are considered for Best Value Schools. The value of a JWU education is reflected in our career outcomes rate of 96.8%* and in the results of a 2018 alumni survey indicating that, based on past graduates’ experiences, JWU alumni have, on average, a higher earning potential as they move up in their careers than their non-JWU peers.
Best Undergraduate Teaching
JWU is one of a select group of schools chosen by its peers (college presidents, provosts and admissions deans) for Best Undergraduate Teaching. This ranking speaks to the dedication of JWU faculty who provide students with academic expertise, personal attention and industry connections, all of which inspire our students to succeed professionally and personally.
Top Performers on Social Mobility
The Social Mobility ranking measures how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell Grants (students from households with an annual income of less than $50,000).
Best Colleges for Veterans
JWU ranks among this group of dedicated schools because we are certified for the GI Bill®, participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program and offer various academic programs and support services to help veterans make the most of their future.

Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2020
In addition to JWU’s North Miami Campus ranking #4 in the nation for diversity, all four JWU campuses were named to the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education overall rankings. Schools are selected for this ranking for providing the best values for families, preparing students for life after graduation, and for the level of student engagement in their curriculum. A survey of undergraduates from each school is included in the ranking process.
Money Magazine Best Colleges 2019
JWU was named to Money’s Best Colleges for 2018-2019, which focuses on the quality of education, affordability and outcomes, including alumni employment status, salary, socioeconomic mobility and job fulfillment.
