Wildcat Madness, formerly known as Midnight Madness, is an annual campus tradition unlike any other at JWU Providence. This yearly event brings together students, faculty and staff from across JWU for a night filled with Wildcat spirit.
Hosted by JWU Providence Athletics and Student Involvement & Leadership, this year’s late-night tradition kicked off with JWU Cheer energetically showcasing their talents and welcoming Wildcats to the Wildcat Center Gym for a night filled with contests, competitions and plenty of free “Wildcat Madness” t-shirts for the spirited crowd.
One of the most anticipated events of the evening was the annual dance showdown between the JWU Cheer team, JWU Dancers, and Ataxia, JWU’s hip-hop dance team. This year, Ataxia won the crown as dance showdown champions.
President Marie Bernardo-Sousa LP.D., ’92 addressed a jam-packed Wildcat Center Gym before the Men’s and Women’s Basketball squads took to the court. “I am so proud to be a Wildcat and you all make it possible. Thank you for everything you do to bring excitement, enthusiasm and energy into the classroom every day,” she said.

The Women’s Basketball team put on a shooting clinic in a team-wide shooting competition, while the Men’s Basketball team showed off their hops in a scrimmage which turned into a slam-dunk competition that got all of the Wildcats in attendance up out of their seats.
The JWU Providence community left the Wildcat Center buzzing with energy from this year’s Wildcat Madness – a beloved tradition that is sure to draw more crowds with each passing year!
