For those of you still deciding if you’re going to attend JWU this fall, a visit to campus is guaranteed to help you make your decision. Plus, we’ll be here all summer to answer your questions, help you navigate the remaining steps in the admissions process, and prepare you for an amazing college experience! We think you belong here, and you’ll think so too once you set foot on campus. Plan out a whole summer trip when you visit our Providence, Rhode Island campus, or come discover what we love about our Charlotte, North Carolina Campus.
Either way, here’s what you need to know about visiting us this summer.*
The Providence Campus continues to follow the guidance of the CDC and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). Fully vaccinated visitors will not be required to wear a mask.
“As of now, families coming from a RIDOH designated red state need to show a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours or documentation of full vaccination,” says Christine Sullivan, the director of admissions visiting programs. “If they are arriving from a state not designated as ‘red’, then nothing is required.”
The Charlotte Campus continues to follow the guidance of the CDC and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS). Fully vaccinated visitors will not be required to wear a mask. Also, tour groups have returned to the normal capacity of up to 30 people.
You’ll get to explore all the classrooms, learning labs, creative spaces and even some residence hall rooms — buildings on both campuses have just recently opened back up to tours, allowing visitors to see the actual spaces where they will learn and create! You'll practically have the campus to yourself as many students are remote for summer courses this year.
For those who may not know, the Providence Campus is actually comprised of two campuses: Harborside and Downcity.
Harborside Campus, our culinary hub for the College of Food Innovation & Technology, will offer tours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and select Saturdays. Downcity Campus — where programs in Arts & Sciences, Engineering & Design, Health & Wellness, Business, and Hospitality Management live — will offer tours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and select Saturdays.
On the Charlotte Campus, tours will be offered Monday-Friday.
Both campuses also offer online tours, which include a live stream overview of the JWU experience by an admissions officer, a real-time Q&A session, and a student-led virtual campus tour.
