2. JWU Offers Four Unique Types of Programs

Our programs offer a wide range of interests, time frames, academics and locations that culminate into unforgettable life and learning experiences.

Faculty-Led Programs are designed by JWU, guided by JWU faculty and are one to four weeks long. You’ll travel with the faculty members and go on site visits and cultural tours that complement your academic courses.

Affiliate Programs are offered through third-party providers and overseas universities. The programs vary in length (most are held for one semester) and time of year offered. You’ll have the opportunity to study with and make friends with students from other countries during these integrative academic experiences.

Exchange Programs are longer, independent immersion programs held in locations around the world. You’ll study at a JWU partner university for one semester or one academic year, and your courses will be taught by that university’s faculty. You’ll also get to know and engage with students from other countries while exploring student life opportunities and the culture of the chosen location.

Direct Enroll Programs are created by JWU and offered for one semester or during the summer. Along with the academic courses you’ll enjoy cultural excursions with your peers in locations such as France, Italy and Switzerland.

3. JWU’s First Domestic Exchange Program Starts in Spring 2025

If you’re looking for an educational and cultural experience without leaving the U.S., look no further! You’ll study and live at Xavier University in the “Big Easy” − New Orleans, Louisiana. Known for its laid-back but vibrant lifestyle, you’ll discover the city’s deep-rooted history, rich cultural and ethnic diversity, eclectic cuisine (Creole, Cajun and more), a thriving arts and music scene (it’s the “birthplace of jazz”) and legendary festivals (think Mardi Gras!).

If you’re a JWU Providence student majoring in biology, public health, psychology, business or computer science, you’ll spend one semester at Xavier, a historically black college or university (HBCU) that is also a Catholic university. You’ll be taught by Xavier faculty and join other exchange students and local students in your courses and while exploring the city and its colorful, lively community.
If this sounds like the right program for you, apply ASAP – the deadline is September 15, 2024.
